We use only the cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you logged in. No tracking, no advertising, no analytics.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and — in some cases — track you across the internet for advertising purposes.
We only use the first kind.
We set exactly two cookies, both strictly necessary to operate the login system. Neither contains any personal information about you, and neither is used for tracking or advertising.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| session | Keeps you logged in to your ExamPad+ account during an active browser session. Contains a random token that identifies your session on the server — it holds no personal data itself. | Deleted when you close your browser or log out | Strictly necessary |
| csrf_token | Protects your account against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks — a type of security threat where a malicious website tries to perform actions on your behalf without your knowledge. | Deleted when you close your browser or log out | Strictly necessary |
Both cookies are session cookies — they are temporary and are automatically removed when you close your browser or log out. We do not use persistent cookies that track you over time.
To be completely clear, ExamPad+ does not use:
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, we are not legally required to ask for your consent under UK law (PECR — Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations). This is why you will not see a cookie consent banner on our website.
However, if you disable cookies in your browser settings, you will not be able to log in to your ExamPad+ account, as the session cookie is required for authentication. The public pages of the website (home, features, compliance, about, etc.) will work normally without cookies.
You can view and delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Here are links to guidance for the most common browsers:
Deleting your ExamPad+ session cookie will log you out, but will not affect your account or any data stored on the server.
If we ever change the cookies we use, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Given the minimal nature of our cookie use, we do not anticipate significant changes.
If you have any questions about how we use cookies, please contact us via the details on our website. You can also read our Privacy Policy for more information on how we handle your data overall.
